Hi @LauraElite,
Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums for a solution to your printing issue.
I understand that you are using an HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One Printer with a Windows 10 computer and every time you try to print it tries to get you to send a fax. I would like to help with that.
It kind of sounds like the 'Fax - HP ENVY 7640" is selected or set as the default printer instead of just the "HP ENVY 7640".
After you click File>Print to open the print dialog box, make sure that the "HP ENVY 7640" is selected. If the "Fax - HP ENVY 7640" is selected check to see if the "HP ENVY 7640" is available. If it is, right-click it and you should be able to set that as the default printer and select it.
If the "HP ENVY 7640" is not available on the print dialog box, you could also go into Devices and Printers folder from the Windows Control Panel and set it as the default there.
If it only shows the "Fax - HP ENVY 7640" in the Devices and Printers folder you should be able to right-click the printer icon and switch it from "Fax - HP ENVY 7640" to "HP ENVY 7640".
Here is a support document that can help with adjusting print job settings if needed - Printing Documents (Windows).
