I just purchased this new printer. My old HP printer had an icon, HP solution center, where I could scan from that icon. When I set up the new printer an icon was not placed on my desktop.
Is there an equvilent icon that can be use with my new Office JEt Pro 8710? If so how can I set it up?
I like scanning to a PDF file. My old scanner defaulted to a PDF file. If there is an equivilent icon does it allow scanning to a PDF file? IF not, is there a way to set it up to scan to a PDF file?

Hi,
HP Support Assistant and HP Printer Assistant are two different applications. Have you installed printer software and drivers to your compute yet ? If YES, please download an run the following tool:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/HPPSdr.exe
It may fix the problem for you. If not, post back full error message(s).
Regards.

Hi,
Windoes 10 put HP Printer Assistant (no more Solution Center) icon on desktop, you can open it to get full menu and it works similar to the older Solution Center.
Windows 10 also burries printer software under HP group/folder. Please hit Win key, expand HP folder and you can see your printer in there.
Regards.

Thank you for your quick response. I'm not sure what I am missing but there is no Printer Assistant on my desk top and I did not see it in the folder. I ran a search on my hard drive and did not find Printer Assistant. There is a HP Support Assistant on my desk top. Is this the same thing?
If not do you have anymore suggestions?
Thank you
