hp p1005
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello

Thank you for help in advance. Hopefully you can help.

I have a Hp laserjet p1005 printer. A desktop. Tablet. and laptop all running windows 10 64bit. I also have a couple of mobile phones both running android and an iphone. I also have a NAS and a Media pc.

I am also using a network switch.

Majority of the computers are connected to the switch.

My question is if its possible to connect the printer to to my home network via ethernet. I want the printer in a different room away from all computers but i would still like it accessible to all my devices.

I have a few things i can utilise. A spare wireless router. A usb to ethernet converter plug thing. preferably i would like it hard wired to the switch. But for all my trying i cant seem to get it working.

I am quite computer savvy and can follow instructions very well.

any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thank you.

James

According to the User Guide you can connect the printer via Ethernet cable. Here is a link to the User Guide. http://www.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01067075.pdf
