What a nightmare. Support through HP is non-existant on this issue. Not that someone in sales didn't try to help, but that wasn't their job and the suggestion was for another issue...WPA password.

This may be a Windows 10 problem...god knows that's probable...but I thought I had it when I went thru the process for the umpteenth time and when my computer found the printer and when I clicked on it and got the WPS Pin box, I ran into the other office where the printer is and took a picture of the PIN with my phone and ran back to the PC in question and typed it in. Nope. Same result as with I tried every other number on the printer and on the screen having to do with IP address etc. "That didn't work. Try addiing your 8720 printer again or contact the manufacturer."  Next message: "Invalid Argument"...and so I am going to have to buy another printer and connect it directly since this 'wireless' printer that is on my network and is seen by my computer will not allow itself to be added to the computer's printers...went thru the process on both 'Add a device" (computer saw the 8720) and Add A Printer (computer saw the 8720) and nothing works. And there is NO way to talk to a tech person at HP. None. "For technical support, call this number: 800 474 6836...which directs you to visit the website and hangs up.  You can't make this stuff up.

If you run into this WPS PIN problem like I did, go back to Control Panel. Select Devices and Printers. Click on the 'Printer I want wasn't listed" link...even if it was. Select add a printer using TC/TCIP. At this point you'll be asked to check your network settings to be sure that you have yourself on the network. My computer was seeing the printer but not connecting for reasons unknown...

On the printer screen is the IP address. Copy that in and see if it works. Did for me. Still not sure how what or why but the printer finally showed up in my listing and I was able to print  a test page and subsequently a document.  I officially have a brain cramp.

Thank you IM64, needed that to connect to my new Windows 10 computer.
