I've literally never been able to get my printer to work.  It worked once (when I posted my happy reply), and a year later, it's just been sitting there.  It's so frustrating!!  :Crying:

I will post you the link to the PSDR below. Please let me know in detail what the issues are you are having and I will certainly do my best to help you. Here are some questions I have to start out with:

 

 

What printer(s) are installed on the computer?
How is the printer connected (USB/ wireless/ wired/ Bluetooth)?
What is the Operating System of the computer?
Have you tested hardware functionality (made copies)?
Have you tried printing from different programs?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software?
What Firewalls and Anti-virus software are installed?
Have you tried disabling or uninstalling them?

Can you scan to your computer?

Do you see any error messages on the printer or computer?

If so, what are they?

Include screen shots if the issue is a software problem.

Hi

 

I can't scan to the compter. I have a mac os x 10.8.5

 

I re loaded software.

 

Followed the troubleshooting...

 

  1. Click Open Print Queue. The print queue for your printer opens.
  2. Click Printer Setup or Settings. A new window opens.
  3. Click the Utility tab, and then click Open Printer Utility. The HP Utility window opens

There is no utility tab...there are only general and supply tabs....

I had exactly the same problem and I followed your advice and downloaded the HP support assistant; it worked a treat, my computer is now recognised and wireless scanning is excellent.
