Shlomi,  your answer was a god-send for me.  However it did not go far enough.

I am using an HP Envy 7640  and  Microsoft Word for MAC.   I followed all of your

steps, but I still had more to do.  From the window that is open at this point find

and Select PDF,  bottom left corner of the screen,

then - Select 'PDF in Preview,' repeat your process ( From File - Print  & from the

new window, Select Two- Sided

This two sided printing has been a bear for me. Thanks

@HPP19 THIS IS ESSENTIAL INFORMATION.  THANK YOU SO MUCH.  I was about to throw my new printer out of the window until I read your post.  Now it works.

To reiterate for others...

"I followed all of your steps, but I still had more to do.

and Select PDF,  bottom left corner of the screen,

This is ridiculous and roundabout but at least it works.  Thank you.

I got this!!

I also had the "greyed out" two sided option.

Try this:

System Preferences> Print & Scan > "Options and Supplies" button > Click "Driver" button

then tick  the box next to "HP  Two - Sided Printing Accessory (Duplexer)

Click OK.

Then Click the Lock closed so it doesn't auto-reset to something else. Important!

Now the box will be available to click two - sided printing when your print box pops up.

No need to do that Save-as-Pdf thing. Whew!

Thank you!  I already found the solution posted by someone a while ago, though different from your suggestion.  Maybe there are more than one way for the solution.

I have all the settings saved, as shown above, I even closed out of the word document and re-opened. However, it is still printing single sided, despite the fact the preferences show double sided is clicked. Any suggestions?
