Many thanks for the info.  We were experiencing no black printing and the reset worked like a charm!!

I assumed I was out of ink when the printer suddenly stopped showing black ink on paper. I installed a new black ink cartridge, but it still does not print. I understand there is a reset process. Please advise soonest. Thank you.

My officejet 6500A quit printing black today.  I changed all of my cartridges and when I ask the printer the status of the ink the colors are fine, but there is no black in that space

I don't want to start with cleaning everything out if a simple reset will work.  Besides, this is a fairly new printer and it's completely unacceptable that it would need to be taken apart, cleaned and soaked. I've had inkjet printers for 10 years that have never needed any of that. I will take this POS back to Costco before I put up with that.

Where is the Support Menu, please? Where is the curved back arrow? What window did you open first to see this arrow you are speaking of?

Edit: Ok, I found a video on HP's support site showing how to reset the printer which brought the actual printer touchpad to my attention. Now I realize that to do the partial reset instructions that you must press the arrow ON THE PRINTER TOUCHPAD. haha! There are arrows and things to press in many places when troubleshooting (on the web, on an app...). It's is helpful to know where to look from the start.
