I have a Deskjet 5940 printer. There appear to be no drivers for this in Windows 7.
This means that I cannot load HP Solution Center software to maintain the printer; (eg clean the heads, see ink levels).
Will drivers be made available soon? Any suggestions?

The 5940 driver is on Windows Update.
Here's how to run Windows Update to find the driver:
Please reply back if you are successful. We like to know if these things are resolved.

Thanks for the links. Windows 7 has detected the printer; but that's not the problem.
The software offers only basic functions. I would like to have the functionality that comes with the HP Solution Center software .. or at the very least to be able to monitor ink levels and to clean the print heads.
Any further help would be appreciated.

I assume that the situation is the same as for the 5700 family - HP says you simply can't clean or align the print cartridges. Great.

A solution to reduced functionality would be to be install XP in Virtual PC. All the HP software will run in the XP box. You need an installable copy of XP unless you have Windows 7 Ultimate. You can either make the printer sharable in Win7, or attach it as a USB device in the XP box. If you have problems accessing your Win7 photo folder for printing, load the photos onto a USB stick and then attach it to XP same as the printer.
