I have an HP 1500 all in one printer and every time I turn it on it prints out an alignment sheet. This is a waste of paper and expensive ink. Is there anyway to stop this? Wrenie4

Hey wrenie!
I'd highly recommend taking a look at this article to resolve your issue:
Of special note:
- Complete all of the alignment steps.
- Print the alignment sheet on plain, bright white paper only so that the product can correctly read the scanned alignment page.
- Do not use remanufactured or refilled cartridges. Refilled or remanufactured cartridges might be damaged during the refilling process or have clogged ink nozzles.
- Replace empty or damaged cartridges. Complete all of the alignment steps after you replace any cartridges.
Hope this helps! Please post back if there are still issues.

Thank you for getting back to me. I have done as you suggested ever since I got the printer. I never use refilled cartridges and I pirnt the alignment sheets on clean white paper. It still prints a new sheet out every time I turn the printer on. This is a big waste of exspensive ink and paper. Is there anything else you can think of that I can do? Thanks again..,.Wrenie

This may sound redundant, but just to make sure, after the alignment page prints, you place the page on the scanner glass. Then it makes some noise and the power button stops blinking? If it doesn't, then the alignment was not successful. If that is the case, that can be as simple as dirty glass preventing clear reading of the alignment sheet, or not placing it in the right spot on the scanner.
