7680 document feeder won't feed despite cleaning rollers

I tried cleaning the rollers as recommended in the HP tutorial, to no avail.  Whenever I hit "Copy" or try to fax a document, all I get is an immediate, brief servo like sound, and then the display immediately says, "reload document".  The paper does not even beging to load via the feeder.  If I copy or fax from the glass inside the machine, it works just fine.  It does not look to me like the front roller ever comes into contact with the papers which are loaded into the feeder. It seems like, in order to draw paper in, that front roller would need to drop down somehow until it contacts the papers, or something would have to lift the papers up into contact with the roller.

Thanks, I had already found that page and tried cleaning the rollers. I also did the partial reset.  It does not appear the front roller is coming into contact with the papers loaded in the feeder.
