ENVY N7640
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

From all angles, the printer is connected/activated/.  I have successfully printed-out an Excel file doc with no issue.

However, when I attempt to print-out a PDF file document, I receive a "there was a problem connecting to the printer.  Make sure it's connected and try again" message.

Anyone have a suggestion how I can get the PDFs printed?  Thanks in advance.

Hi @Rich713

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I understand that you're unable to print PDF documents on your HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One Printer. I would be happy to help and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. If you wish to say 'thanks' for my effort to help, click the 'thumbs up' to give me a Kudos.

I see that you're able to print other documents, however PDF documents will not. I believe this is an issue is within Adobe or plug-in if you're printing from a web browser.

Here's a help guide that I found, which might help resolve the issue:

If the issue persists, please contact Adobe for support:

Thank you for pointing to me about Adobe - I uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat Reader and that corrected the issue.
