Cannot detect photo paper

I have a 5510-e all in one printer.
The problem ism having is when I try and print on 4x6 photo paper the printer says "Cannot detect paper please load paper"
Anyone able to solve my problem?.

Addendum:::
It actually says "Paper not detected. Please ensure paper tray is inserted to print" (it is).
I have done and checked everything and it will only print if the printer has been turned off for a few minutes , if you try and do another after the first successful print then the message comes up.
