Carriage jam on Officejet 6500A Plus

Cannot clear the jam as I cannot find it.  Cannot move carriage by hand as instructed in troubleshooting.

Re: Carriage jam on Officejet 6500A Plus

It is obvious from reading the posts that everyone, like myself,  is angry because the video never addresses their concern.  The printer carraige is stuck under the hood on the right.  Every time the unit is powered up, it clicks rapidly several times in an effor to move the carraige.  There needs to be some home solution that is workable to release the carraige.

The phrase "contact technical support" is usually translated as "go to store,  view other brands of printers, purchase".   Cost is about the same, aggravation factor vastly different.

Re: Carriage jam on Officejet 6500A Plus

But what if the carriage will NOT move.  How do we get it to move so we can check under it?

Re: Carriage jam on Officejet 6500A Plus

For anyone else with this problem,  I just kept clicking OK on the error message until the carriage finally moved then went in and found the paper that was causing the problem.
