I have an HP 7500A, when it finishes a print job it makes this aweful clicking noise, and sounds like it is going to break. Anything I can do to fix this?
It almost sounds like the print heads have been brought back to the "home" location, but it trys to pull them once they are in the right spot.

That usually occurs when the print heads have been inadvertently moved by hand. The belt driven gear is very delicate and should only be moved by software or a service Engineer (technician)

the crunch sound comes from the plastic gear and belt. AFAIK only replacing it will fix it. I am sure it can be repaired it at the HP Service Center. I am not certain it would be cost effective unless the printer is an expensive model.
