I have a HP 8600 N911a printer. The printer will print a document from a remote desktop server, however the document will remain on the spool and will hold up the next documents lined up to be printed. It does this for all items printed from the remote desktop server. It prints and receives faxes perfectly all other times wirelessly.

Hi swmpthng88,
What is the operating system on the Remote Server?
Do you have the printer connected Ethernet or Wirelessly to the server?
HP designed a quick and easy tool that diagnoses and resolves many printing, scanning, and connectivity problems: The HP Print and Scan Doctor. HP recommends that you download and install the Print and Scan Doctor any time you need to troubleshoot a problem with your HP printer from the link below.
Let me know what errors you receive?

I am operating on Windows 7 64bit.
The remote server operates on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard x 64 service pack 2.
The priner is connected wirelessly.

Hi swmpthng88,
Do you have the same issue if the printer is connected with an Ethernet cable?
Try running the diagnostic tool below.

I tried the tool, all it did was help clear the queue. Unfortunately, it did not solve the problem. i tried printing from the remote server again and it stalled the queue again. I tried this several times... Cannot try printing from ethernet cable at this time. It seems to be a problem with the printer communicating to the computer that job has printed.

Hi swmpthng88,
I need you to run the following firmware update on the printer. You may need to connect the printer to a computer with a Ethernet or USB connection to make sure it gets update correctly. Once the firmware is updated let me know if you still experience the same issue. This firmware improves the performance in wireless connectivity.

It would not let me update the firmware since it was completely up to date...

Hi swmpthng88,
Do you have issues printing to the printer from the work stations?
When can you test printing over Ethernet?
What is the purpose of printing from the server?
Does the printer have a DHCP address or Static address?
Have you tried uninstalling the software, and then reinstall it on the server?

I will be unable to test with an ethernet cable due to the office setup. We are completely on wireless for now. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software. I am printing off the server because it is printing from quickbooks from a shared network which I do not have direct access to. I do not know about the type of server connection.

Hi swmpthng88,
What happens when you send a print job from Notepad or Wordpad?
