My new HP Deskjet printer is stuck in deleting mode. Won't print. Even if I attempt to clear the que by cancelling all print jobs it remains stuck in deleting. I have successfully cleared it twice and then attempted to print something and it went right back to being stuck in the deleting phase.

Hi,

try using the following tool by seleting Fix Printing and check if that may help:

http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03286146

If the same persist, what operating system you are using?

Is the USB directly connected to the PC? ensure it is not connected via any USB hub or extension, for a desktop PC also ensure the cable is connected to a port at the back of the PC and check if that may help.. as well ensure the cable is not longer then 2 meters long.

Please let me know of any change,

Shlomi

Hi,

Turn the printer off and reboot your PC.

Once your PC restarts open Devices and Printers and cancel all the print jobs, then the documents will be reqmoved from the queue.

Note: the printer may disappear as "Deleting" indicates that the printer queue was deleted..

Turn the printer on and allow a minute or two, a new copy of the printer will be added automatically.

Thanks much for you help, so far. However, I did exactly as you instructed and I still cannot print. I received an error message saying "this document failed to print". The queue shows that the printer is ready and that there is one document prepared to print but when I select the print option nothing happens - other than the error message.

Thanks Shlomil - great job. Why don't you take the rest of the day off!

I have tried each suggestion in this list but still have a document deleting. When I went to C:\windows\system32\spool\printers as recommeneded, I did not see a list of document that I could delete.

Also, do I need to turn the print spooler back on?
