HP F2240 Deskjet All in One Printer Problem: Won't turn off and all lights are on [ Edited ]

As the title suggests, I've got a problem with my F2240 Deskjet all in one printer. I tried to scan a drawing in last night. After a few failed attempts I decided to try and turn it off and turn it back on. When I turned it back on all the lights flashed on (not blinking) I tried to turn it off and it didn't turn off. I unplugged it from the back and left it off the whole night. Reconnected it, and nothing changed. Tried using a different electric outlet, still nothing. Disconnected it from the back and wall outlet and reconnected both, and still nothing. I also checked the printer cartridges and there is no paper that is jammed.

Also when I open HP Solution Center it says that it's disconnected even though it's connected through the USB.

I hate this.. it seems lie just after the 1 yr mark on EVERY single HP priter I've owned.. this error stuff and lockup on the printer begins. You cant clear it and it just keeps happening.( I have a boatload of printers sitting in my garage now if anyone is interested or KNOWS HOW TO FIX THEM??!) . I now have an error 8 on my HP F2240 printer and its doing the same exact thing as what everyone is saying above SOMEBODY.. ANYBODY .. can you please HELP? THanksssssss

Try pressing and holding the power button on the printer to get it to turn off. I used to have a printer that you had to hold down the button for a fwe seconds before it would turn off.
Have you tried reinstalling the drivers for your printer? You can do this by clicking on "Support & Drivers" at the top of the page and following the steps to download them.
