HP LaserJet 3040 Printer

What is wrong with my printer if its printing with a line down the middle of it. It only does it when I scan, the line does not show up when I print something from my desktop. HELP PLEASE!!!

I am having trouble locating a 3040 laserjet. To help narrow troubleshooting check this link out to find you model number.
