I have a HP LaserJet CM1415fnw setup to print on my wi-fi network. I am using a Dell Latitude E6400 running Windows 7 Professional. I have intermittant problems printing Word document (MS Word 2010). The job gets sent to the printer and it will normally start the print job then get into an error cycle where it either prints a few pages and then restarts the job or prints error pages until I switch it off. The error pages contain the following:
PCL XL Error; Subsystem: TEXT; Error: Internal Error 0x50; File Name: cheettext.c; Line Number:710
I have attemted to reinstall the driver and am currently using the following driver:
HP LaserJet Professional CM1410 Series PCL 6
I have no problems when printing PDF documents.
Please assist as this is wasting many hours of my time and forests are crying from the wasted paper.
Many thanks
Tim

Ho Tim,
Please try the following steps and check if that helps:
- Install the latest firmware for the printer:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL34598/kj-85662-9/CM1410_MFP_Series_FW_Update-20120216.ex ... - Now try printing and check for any change,
- If the issue persists, enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right click the CM1415 printer icon and select Printer Preferences.
- Enter the Advanced tab.
- Set the Print Data Optimization option as Optimize for Text and Vector.
- Click OK to confirm and try printing again,
Please let me know of any change,
Shlomi

Hi Shlomi,
Thank you for your super quick response.
Unfortunately this did not resolve the problem. I did the firmware update sucessfully and tried to reprint but got the same error page printed. I then changed the Print Data Optimization setting as you directed and printed again. This time it began printing then the printer display showed a message - "Cancelling" - and the document began printing again. Each time it seems to get a page or 2 further than the last time before restarting the print job.
Any other suggestions?
Many thanks
Tim

Hi Tim,
I am sorry to hear there is no progress yet.
Let's try using an alternative Postscript driver and check for any change:
First, download the Universal Print Driver for your OS.
Make sure to use the driver intended for your operating system type:
Windows 7 32 bit:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL40842/
Windows 7 64 bit:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL40842/
Follow the installation by selecting Traditional Mode.
During the configuration, select the same port used by the standard printer driver.
You may locate the used port by right clicking the printer icon, select Printer Properties and enter the Ports tab. the same port checked for the pritner should be selected for the UPD driver.
Once done, try printing using the Universal Print Driver and check for any change.
Regards,
Shlomi

Hi Shlomi,
Thank you for your suggestion. In the mean time I unistalled the PCL 6 driver and installed the PCL 5 driver and this has resolved the problem for me.
Thank you for your assistance!
Tim
