Initialization - All lights keep blinking in sequence - will not go to ready light.

LaserJet CP1025nw color printer (CE914A) - When I turn printer on all the initialization lights (all cartridge, attention, and ready lights) keep blinking in sequence.  I have tried unplugging printer with and without printer being turned on with no help.  I also tried to restore factory settings, but could not do so.  I tried to re-install the printer with the CD but it would not get past the first step.  Last thing I did on the printer was print a cleaning page a few days ago.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi netennis,

That is an odd combination of lights. To be sure I understand, you are saying the cartridge light will blink, then the attention light, and finally the ready light, but not at the same time?

Also, you mentioned trying to do a factory restore on the printer...are these the steps you took:

Re: Initialization - All lights keep blinking in sequence - will not go to ready light.

After turning on the printer (HP Laserjet CP1025 nw) it normally goes through a sequencial series of lights and the the blue light (power) and ready light stay on, but in my case the blue light stays on but the black cartridge light blinks, then the blue cartridge light blinks, then the red cartridge light blinks, then the yellow cartridge light blinks and then the attention light blinks, lastly the ready light blinks and then it starts all over again.  Since it is a wireless printer, I tried first connecting with the printer with my desktop.  It said it was not connected.  I then utilized my laptop which also has the software installed for this wireless printer.  It could not connect either as it normally does.  Thus, it appears to not be the printer drivers since it would not work on either computer.  I have tried to resore the factory settings as was mentioned, but no luck either.  When I turn off the printer, but do not unplug it, the printer keeps on doing the sequencial blinking of lights mention above until I unplug the printer.  Any additional help would be appreciated as I am unable to utilize this printer as it currently is operatiing.  Thank you.

Re: Initialization - All lights keep blinking in sequence - will not go to ready light.

Yeah, this does sound like a hardware issue. I recommend downloading and running the HP Hardware Diagnostic Utility found at the link below:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-101931-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en

This tool helps troubleshoot and correct commonly experienced printer hardware usage problems and error conditions such as:

  • Paper Jam
  • Carriage Stall
  • Original (document feeder) Jam
  • Out of Paper
  • Paper Mismatch
  • Blinking Lights
  • Door Open
  • Print Quality

Let me know if this helps or not.
