HP Deskjet 1512
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I also have experienced the ink not drying and smearing when I print on the glossy photo paper that came with my Deskjet...So I think it's the paper because when I printed on a Matte finish paper it was fine. Leave the glossy paper to the photo print places...

Hello @Golfgal9

Welcome back to the forums!

I noticed your post about the ink smearing and not drying when you use glossy photo paper, and I wanted to also suggest that you could try changing the print settings to print in Normal or Draft quality, which will produce less ink. Also make sure you are selecting the appropriate paper type before you print.

I hope that helps! Take care!

Thanks for post Rainbow. I would just like to add that the "appropriate" paer was included with my printer. So if it's not correct than what is???

Hi again!

I was referring to changing the paper type on your computer to reflect the correct paper type you are trying to print on, and not the actual paper itself that is loaded in the paper tray.

Ensure the paper type you are selecting to print on in the list of different paper types, matches the paper you have loaded and wanting to print on.

I hope that clarifies, take care:)
