J6480 Can't Turn Off Color Printing

I have a J6480, all in one, that has worked well for years.  Lately, I notice that if I select "Print In Grayscale" and select "Black/Gray Photo cartridge only" to save the color cartridge, the printer still prints it out in color?  I have uninstalled the printer and reloaded the complete software package twice and it still does the same thing; prints in color when I don't want to.  What can I try to resolve this issue.  I have Windows Vista 32 bit.  Have recently installed MS Office Pro 2010.  Thanks, Wayne

We're certainly not getting much support from HP on this?  You're the first person that responded to my request.  I think it is actually the 2nd time I've posted the problem.

Yeah...just installed deskjet 1000 and have same problem.
