Keeps stating printhead missing or damaged on my embedded web server on hp utility.

Help. My printer keeps stating "ink system error turn off then turn back on". On my HP Utility in the web server utility it states "missing or damaged printhead". I have a Officejet 6500 e709n and run it on a Apple Macbook Pro. Just had to replace the printer cartriges and now keep getting this error. Have tried cleaning the printhead, unplugging, etc and errors will not go away. Please help!
