Photosmart C310a premium "Damaged Cartridge"

I originally posted this question over on the ink cartridge forum, but I believe it's a printer problem and hopefully will find a solution here.
The screen states "cartridge damaged" I've been using only brand new HP ink carthidges, so that is not an issue. It has rejected 3 out of 4 cartridges that I've tried to install. This only occurs on Black cartridge ( NOT photo black). Can anyone help?
The Particulars:
HP Photosmart Premium Printer C310a s/n {Removed for privacy} model: CN503-64001
Operating System (including service pack revision): Windows 7 Professional 64-bit version
Error messages: "Damaged Cartridge"
Recent hardware or software changes made to the system: None
Connection Method: USB, Hardwired
Issue: Rejects most new HP ink 564 blk cartridges.

Even though the following article says "Damaged Printhead" error please try it. It may resolve your issue.
