I successfully installed my printer on my home network. Now, my computer can't detect it so I can't print.
I've noticed that the printer shows a different IP address to the one that the router assigns to it and which is visible on the router configuration webpage. Resetting both the printer and my router has no effect.
I had to reset my router a few days ago following a broadband outage. Could this be the cause of the problem?

Is the 1563dbf is set-up for DHCP?
What are the IP's?
What router model#?

Is the 1563dbf is set-up for DHCP? YES (on Network settings>TCP/IP, it's set to Automatic).
What are the IP's? Please can you explain what you mean?
What router model#? Orange Livebox Mini.

You stated "I've noticed that the printer shows a different IP address to the one that the router assigns to it and which is visible on the router configuration webpage".
Just trying to understand what IP's you are seeing?

IP address of 169.254.xxx.xxx means that your 1536dbf could not reach your DHCP router to be assigned an address.
If you are running Windows use this link to run the HP network diag. utility.

I've already tried the HP network diag. utility to no avail. Why would the printer not be able to reach the router to be assigned an address? That's the key to this, isn't it?
Sometimes, resetting the router while everything is on and connected causes the printer to display a 192 address. However, I recall that the address that appeared during the installation process was a 169 address. So the printer still can't reach the router (even after an "on" reset) because the addresses are different. Why would the addresses be different?
Thanks

Have you tried a different RJ45 cable to connect the M1536dnf to your router?

It turns out that resetting the router after the broadband outage the other day switched off the ethernet port to which the printer is conncected. This is strange because previous resets did not do this.
Thanks for your help.
