Printer Jams As It's Pulling In Paper

I have an Officejet 4500 Wireless All-in-one printer, model # G510n installed on my Windows 7 computer. I was just printing something and my printer ran out of paper. When I put more in and clicked "OK" the first piece of paper got jammed as it was being pulled in. So I pulled it out and tried again. And again. And again. It also looks like its being pulled in crooked. The strange part is that every time it gets jammed the error message comes up as "out of paper," rather than "paper jam." Is there any way I can fix this myself? Anyone having similar issues? I have made no new system changes or anything like that. I was printing just fine a few days ago and also today before I had to load in more paper.
