Printing problem Photosmart 5515e

I have a Photosmart 5515e B111h series Product No. CQ183B running with a Vista PC. Quite often during a print it will stop part way through the page run and say 'Print error'. There is no paper jam or other apparent problem. The big problem is that the only way to get it going again is to shut down the PC and start all over again. Deleting the print item doesn't work. Unplugging the printer from the mains doesn't work. A further problem is that when I have this printing problem more often than not the PC will not shut down or restart in the usual way. I have to press and hold down the on button on the PC. This does not happen when at other times, only when there's a printer problem. When the PC starts again the printer works ok - until the next time. Its happened twice today and is a real problem. I was thinking of buying another of these printers for another location but now I'm having doubts.

after opening the link please select the operating System & download the firmwire install it & try to use it this will resolve the issue & downlaod the print diagnostic utility & run it once

Thanks for responding so quickly. I downloaded the firmware as suggested but when I double clicked to install it a message came up 'This update does not support any of the HP device drivers that you have on your PC. You do not need this software'  Any ideas?

Try downloading the new software full featured one & reinstall the software by uninstalling the software before installing restart the comp after uninstalling this should work
