.Slow print with some garbage on Officejet e6500A Plus

Product:  Officejet 6500A Plus

Operating system:  Windows 7

Messages:  None

Changes:  None

 

When I print a document of several pages the first few pages print very fast (about 6 pages/minute).  After about the 5th page the print speed slows to about 2-3 minutes per page.  In addition, some pages are total garbage with no dicernable text or graphics.
