my printer keeps getting disconnected

my printer keeps getting disconnected and up pops a blue screen with a picture of the power button, and I can't turn off the printer I have to unplug it......why????

My HP Officejet 5610v All-in-One is no longer recognized by any of my pc's.  When I plug it in to another pc it says that the device is not recognized or malfunctioning.  All the local or off line functions of the printer, such as copy and fax is working just fine, but it is no longer recognized by the pc as a printer or any functioning device.  I change the printer cable already and setup the printer to the original factory settings but no change.

Try turning the printer off and removing power from it, and its source, for about 5 minutes. Reconnect the printer and turn it back on. Connect the printer to your PC while it is ON to see if it is recognized.

I followed your advice and it is still saying " The USB device is not recognized".
