HP Office Jet Disconnected

Power Outage in neighborhood, no electricity for 4 hours

There are 2 possibilities here:

 

One, the power supply could have been damaged, if it is one that has a green LED built into the black brick shaped section, that light should be on when plugged in.

 

Two, if the power supply is okay, then the printer itself may have been damaged internally by a power surge. If that is the case, it would not be an advisable fix, unless you are good with electronics repair. Then it would somewhat of a challenge to find what broke, if it is even repairable at all. Unfortunately not something I could tell you how to do.

Checked the Pwr Sply...no green light.

The black box is an AC/DC Adaptor, HP C7296-60024.

Should it be warm to the touch if working?  How can I determine if it is good or bad?
