printer connected to the internet but when I try to print my computer says the printer is offline.

I have a photosmart all in one 6510 printer.  My operating system is windows 64-bit.  My printer says it's connected to the internet but when I go to print my computer says the printer is offline.  I've tried to get updates for the printer but when I click on the web button on the printer it gives me an error message saying the printer can't connect to the server.  I've gone through the troubleshooting techniques and am baffled.  Please help.
