My all-in-one ink is too expensive for me on a limited income -- but that's another problem. What happened is that I can no longer use the scanner, just keep getting error messages that it needs ink.
Please let me know of a way to continue using the scanner without having to go into debt for HP ink.

This happened to me. All I had to do was hit the "OK" button the machine and it allowed me to scan. Hope it works for you. K.

Sorry -- that would be the most benign solution. I should have given more information, but posted from my laptop instead of the attached desktop.
So -- it's an hp pcs 2210 all-in-one. It continually flashes to tell me to "Remove and Check Cartridges." Well, I know there is no ink. I can't afford to purchase ink for this machine. I just would like to use it as a scanner -- it is a very good one!
Anyone else with a suggestion? Please?

Use simple scan on Linux. I use mint so its preinstalled. No hassle - just scan and print regardless of printer type or fault
