Answer FAX manually on shared voice/fax line

Just a quick tip for anyone who is having problems manually answering FAXes on their HP FAX or All In One machine, or just wants another option to answer the FAX line.  We had an old HP dedicated FAX machine (inkjet) that was starting to fail and replaced it with a new Officjet 4500 All In One machine.  In the Getting Started Guide we are told when Answering FAX Manually to walk to the OJ 4500 and press the green "Start" button after answering the phone on the shared voice/FAX line.  On our old FAX machine we could just hit  1,2,3 on the phone keypad from any phone on that line and the FAX machine would pick up the call.  On a hunch we tried that with the OJ 4500 and it still works.

We are surprised that it isn't mentioned in the User Guide!  That's a serious oversight!

Bravo! I serendipitously hit the answer key on my phone when expecting a fax, & wasn't sure whether that produced the fax appearance or whether it was coincidental.
