Auto Document Feeder does not feed.

HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium

 

When placing sheets on the auto document feeder and then pressing copy button or pressing scan button, the auto document feeder does not pull the sheets into the printer to begin the copy or scan processing. The printers message board alerts that it wants a original placed on the glass to copy from or scan from and does not recognize the fact that I have placed multiple sheets in the auto document feeder.


What is the solution to my problem. Thanks for any help you can give me.

If the Automatic Document Feeder does not pick up any pages at all, the rollers may need to be cleaned. I have included a link that has instructions on how to do this in addtion to some other throubleshooting steps you may want to follow.
