C310 prints & copies but doesn't scan to PC

Photosmart Prem C310 and Windows 7 PC
wireless set up with latest drivers and firmware loaded (original install CD misplaced)
When I initiate scan to computer from touchscreen I get the message "!Scan Problem Try starting scan from computer. Refer to documentation for details." I have tried all of the HP diagnostic tools but still can't start the scan from the computer. Any ideas on how to get this working?

Hello LZimmerman
What error do you receive when trying to scan from your computer? You already mentioned you get "Try starting scan from computer". Does the HP Scan Diagnostic Utility say anything or does everything check out ok?

The scan diagnostic tells me there is no scanner installed. When I go to the printer, starting a scan is not even an option. It's as if the computer doesn't know the 310 can scan, but I have all of the current drivers loaded.

Try attaching the printer as USB and see if it can discover the scanner and let me know if anything changes.
