C3180 Scanner with high zoom problem--please help!

Hello All,

Okay--I am using an HP Photosmart C3180 All-in-One to scan several documents to PDF via Adobe Reader. I have version 8 of Adobe, so that is not an issue. What is an issue is that when I attempt to scan documents they are zoomed up to a very high percentage by the scanner. Adobe Reader automatically zooms them down to 36% in order to display them on the screen. But when I attempt to fax the documents the high zoom percentage only permits a quarter of the page to be printed. I've seen a few other postings about this issue, but no responses. Can anyone help with this? I have searched the settings and preferences to no avail. Also, I'm using a Mac.

Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated! I am at my wits end and I need to fax some documents immediately.

Thanks in advance.

Re: C3180 Scanner with high zoom problem--please help!

You are scanning at a high resolution. Lower it to somewhere between 150 and 200 dpi.

I'll give it a try. I was set at 200, but I'll lower it to 100 and see what happens.

thanks

No dice. Setting the resolution to 100 results in the doc displaying at 50% in Adobe Reader. Setting the res to 72 results in 70% display, which could work except for the fact that the image quality is pretty terrible by then.
