C410 Phone Connection Output

I have a Photosmart Premium C410.  Until yesterday it worked great.  Now, the output line for the phone will not work.  I have the phone line in going to the Line 1 spot as directed and as always connected.  Then I have the EXT-2 line going from the printer to my house phone.  The line from EXT-2 is not working now.  I know the phone line works becuase I can take the line out of the printer and plug directly into the phone and it works. I also know it is not the wire because I tried swapping with a brand new line and it did not help.  Does anyone know if there is some setting in the printer that could have changed to disable to he phone line or if there is something else I should check?

Im having the same problem with the officejet pro 8500, no tone from the printer/fax to the phone extension.
