C7280 - Fax Auto Answer not working

Despite the light being turned on, the fax machine will not answer incoming fax calls. I have to press the auto answer button to get the machine to answer. This should not be happening. It has passed all the fax tests and the inidcation from the tests is that the auto answer is on. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

          This might happen if the “Distinctive ring” Pattern is to a different ring.

          Follow the steps below

          1) Set ‘Distinctive Ring’ to ‘All Rings’ Setup > Advanced Fax Set Up >Distinctive Ring > All rings

          2) Rings to answer to ‘2’ or ‘3’ Setup > Basic Fax Setup > Rings to answer > ‘2’ or ‘3’
