I have HP OfficeJet 5610 All in One. I Can Not Receive Faxes Automatically. Can you help me?
My Manual says to set the Auto Answer to ON, and the Ring to Answer to its Default setting to 5.
Is their anything else I have to do?

I ended up setting my ring count to my desired # (2) and the setting my ring pattern to accept all. It then worked.

I have a HP 5610 All in One OfficeJet.
I can not receive faxes automatically.
I have set my All in One OfficeJet to Auto Answer ON.
And the Rings to Answer to 5, which is the HP Default Setting.
The Error Correction Mode is set to OFF.
The Fax Speed is set to SLOW, because I just changed from ATT to Comcast Digital Voice, (Voip).
And the Ring Pattern is set to Double Rings.
Is there anything else I have to do to correct this problem?

This message is for K_Sudarshan.
I have an HP OfficeJet 5610 All in One.
I was receiving my faxes before using a AT&T Land Line, 1 Line, 2 phone numbers, with Ringmaster. I switched over to Comcast's Digital Voice, (VOIP), I have only 1 Line, and only 1 phone number, (no more Ringmaster), which is hooked up to my HP 5610 All in One, just lke before. I Cannot Receive any Faxes Automatically, only Manually, but who wants to sit by a fax machine and wait for a fax. I put Auto Answer to ON, Error Correction to OFF. And the Fax Speed is set to SLOW.
I have an Answering Machine that picks up at 4 Rings.
I also have Comcast's Voice Mail that picks up when the phone is in use.
1)- How many Rings to Answer should I set the HP All in One for? 2 or 5?
2)- Should the Rings be Double Rings?
Any help you could give me would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Mellwww

I have an officejet 4500 wireless and I cannot recieve faxes. I have a distintive ring pattern (short, long, short) and cannot find how to set up for it.
Do you have any suggestions?

I don't have either of those headings, so I chose the (ECM) Error Correction Mode and turned it off. Hope it works.

I did all that but I have no one to call and ask to send me a fax to test it. Can I test the receive thing myself?

First, to test, send a 2-page Fax to HP: 1 888 473-2963. In a few minutes they send one back.
I have the same probllem- send OK error on receipt - with error232 (communication error). Of course, I do not know for sure that the other end acturally receives my document.
I disabled the ECM (but somewhere else it was stated that it does not affect receipt) and set to lowest speed.
Still does not work.
Ii am using Ooma - VOIP service. I will put a filter on the line and see what happens.

I have now set my Fax machine/printer (on HP J4500) to highest speed and ECM ON after disconnecting the phone from the machine. That worked - can now receive Fax.
Then, I reconnected the phone to the eprinter via a DSL filter - it works.
Enjoy,
