How can I change the destination folder for the 'scan to computer' setting on HP OfficePro 8600 using Windows 8.  The only work around I've found is to set up a destination through 'scan to network', but I'm just saving to a folder on my desktop and I would like to be able to save my scns to this folder when I use the 'scan to computer' option on the printer control panel. Thank you!

Hi,

You may change the default settings by changing the default scan shortcats from the HP software:

Open the printer software (e.g HP Officejet Pro 8600) and select Scan a document or Photo.

Click the Advanced Settings button for the used shortcut and select the destination folder within the Destination tab.

Click OK and then click the Scan button.

Once completing the scan job the settigns should be kept for the specific shortcut once using it from the front panel as well.

Hi, ScholmiL:  I wanted to give more than kudos.  I have been putting trying to find this solution.  I had only focused on getting the correct "network" destination.  The problem with that method is it takes so long to connect.

When I saw your answer, I knew immediately that would work...and, of course, it did.

I had tried using logic to find the solution...but nothing worked.

Again, thanks for your support.

Steve
