Communicat ion problem when scanning

Hi all
I have a brand new C4280. Copying and printing woks correctly but when I scan from the button printer or the HP solution center, it prompts an error, something like "Communication problem with the device. Be sure you are device is correctly plugged ..."
I have XP OS. I have already tried each one of the solutions in the page "An error occurred while communicating with scanning device' Message Displays in Windows XP When the Device is Connected to the Computer with a USB Cable". I still face the same issue.
Please, does any one know how to solve this problem?

Hi all
Well, it's a long time since I wrote the post, but just tell you guys that I solved the problem buying a more expensive USB cable in a posh commercial center.
Simply like that. It seems that the serveral cheap cables that the computer shop sold me were not working with this printer.

HI,
I think you should try a level 4 uninstall (If not using a HP computer) or level 3 uninstall
restart the computer.
Rename the Twain_32 folder to twain_32old from C:\Windows then delete everything except the folder named as 3 from C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86
uninstall every printer entry from device manager.
restart the computer.
try reinatalling the drivers using a custom install
onyly install the following
Printer drivers(most likely to be the first entry)
HP Imaging device functuions
HP solution center
Please keep me updated about the progress (whether it works or not)
