I love my 8600 Pro series, but also use a Brother mulitfunction printer because it has a large, ledger-sized scanning glass. I really like the fact that I can now use that instead of a $4000 dollar copy machine. The thing is, I would much rather purchase it from HP instead of Brother. Does anyone know if this will be part of the HP product line anytime soon? I would buy a crap-ton of them if they were made as heavy-duty as the Officejet 8600 Pro series devices. I'm sure many people would too since printers with large scanning surfaces are always sold out at stores!!!
Thanks!

Please be aware that this forum is a peer to peer support forum, it is not a direct link to HP support. The folks here would not know about future plans, and the ones that did would not say anything because HP does not generally release information on future products.
That said, the Officejet 7500a may be a step in that direction; it prints up to 13x19 and says it supports 11x17 scanning with "stitch mode". I have not used one of these to have any idea of how well the stitch mode works, but it may indicate some recognition of the need for a large format scanning capability. You might contact HP sales and inquire.
