Duplex scanning >3 pages results in corrupted PDF file - OfficeJet Pro L7680

Whenever I use the ADF to scan double-sided documents, if the document is greater than 3 pages I the resultant PDF file on my PC will be "corrupted" per the Adobe error message.  If the docment is less than or equal to 3 double-sided pages, the PDF file that results is fine.  I can work around the issue by breaking up the document into multiple parts, but that is annoying.

The L7680 scans all of the pages (front and back) properly and does not indicate any error on the printer screen.  I'm guessing the error is either the connection between the PC and printer (maybe it times out part way through the scan) or the HP software on the PC (I experienced major issues with the software on Vista when I first bought this printer).

Has anyone else experienced this issue, and if so has anyone figured out a fix?

Try updating the firmware
