Fax Error 344. The suggested solutions do not work!

The printer: Officejet 4500 (G510n-z) Wireless All-in-One Printer. Prod#: CN547A
My Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3
On: HP - Compaq Presario V6700, Intel(R) Core(tm)2 Duo CPU, T5450 @ 1.66GHz,
1.99 GB of RAM, 142 GB hard drive.
Repeatedly get the "344" fax error code on trying to fax out. Incoming fax sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. It occasionally takes a notion to work on outgoing...for who knows why? However that is VERY occasional!!!! Really tired of the 'pat answers' that give NO real solution. Tried them all, they all failed to change anything. Before this faxing problem there was a scan error, which HP DID have a solution in their Utilities Diagnostics section of fixes. Please come up with one for this problem too HP! I will be participating in the "HP Expert Day - April 18, 2012". Perhaps this will give y'all a heads-up on the answers required.
BTW - I am not alone on this problem......do a quick search of the 'error 344' and there are a huge number of dissatisfied HP Printer All-In-Ones out there (multiple models!) having this same issue occuring. Was thankful for the scan problem fix, now please do the same for our faxing problem.
