Hello, I've got a strange problem: When I try to print a document to the fax driver for my HP Photosmart C410 All-In-One, the print job just sits there in the print queue forever. I cannot cancel or delete the job unless I cancel and then restart my machine.
I see that hpofxm08.exe gets executed, but it just sits there taking up 3-6 megabytes of memory with 0% CPU usage.
If I restart my computer without deleting the job out of the queue, the fax manager pops up immediately after logging in, and the fax goes out like it should, but after that, it doesn't work anymore, or maybe it will work once more, but only if I print again immediately. If I wait a minute or two, there's no chance of it working again.
My machine is an Alienware M18x laptop with Windows 7 64-bit. The Windows installation is fresh as of this year. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the HP software dozens of times. I had the problem where my printer would mysteriously disappear, so I disabled the HP CUE service, which solved that problem. Just today I sucessfully installed the Windows 7 Critical Update to improve network reliability, so I reenabled the HP CUE service to see if that problem was taken care of. Printing to paper is never a problem, so long as the driver doesn't uninstall itself.
The printer is connected via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, my laptop is connected via 5 GHz Wi-Fi, both are in the same room as the router, both have excellent signal quality, network connectivity is NOT a problem.
Can anyone help?

The cabling is all correct. It's not an issue with how the printer is set up. When I can fax, faxes go through just fine. Printing to paper works 100% of the time, so the connection between my computer and the printer is also 100% OK.
The problem is the Fax Manager which doesn't always open if I print to the fax driver.
When it works, it goes like this:
I open the document
I print the document to the driver "HP Photosmart C410 Series Fax"
Print job gets placed in the print queue
Print job gets removed from the queue and the fax manager opens up
I enter the destination fax number and seconds later the fax goes out
When it doesn't work, it goes like this:
I open the document
I print the document to the driver "HP Photosmart C410 Series Fax"
Print job gets placed in the print queue
Print job stays in the print queue, fax manager doesn't open
Print job stays in the queue for hours until I restart my computer, at which point the fax manager opens on startup and I can enter the required information
