I have setup an HP 6150 in a network environment with Windows XP. Everything seems to be working fine except the Automatic Document Feeder is not notifying HP Document Viewer that there is a document in the tray ready to be scanned. I downloaded the very latest software off the support website (Version 7.0.2 dated 08/2009) and installed it to be sure I had the latest software in use. 1. I open the HP Document Viewer 2.Select SCAN from the toolbar 3. Select "HP Photosmart C6100 TWAIN" on the popup window. 4. On the next window that opens I select Document, scan to "save to file", file type "PDF" and press the "SCAN" button. 5. The next popup says "The Imaging device is ready to scan place an original on the scanner glass, then press a scanning button on the device or click SCAN below". I place my documents in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and click SCAN. The scanner proceeds to scan but the document is not fed through the ADF. I have found a work-around, although I think HP needs to fix this issue. The work-around is as follows. After opening HP Document Viewer and before selecting SCAN from the toolbar, place the documents to be scanned into the ADF. Follow the steps above and all works ok. The ADF feeds the documents and scans them into the .PDF file just fine. The HP software does not seem to recognize the ADF on the printer at the time that the popup tells you to place the documents on the glass (this could be changed as well since its misleading when you have an ADF).

Not sure if it was mere chance or a one trick pony...but this has worked for me. I have not run this several times to verify that this is the fool-proof solution, but now my ADF is finally feeding my scan.
Thanks for your help,
Jake,
