PCWizard,
Just to keep you up to date, I have had repeated instances where the printer disappears again and when I do the reinstall, it doesn't work.
Today I figured out that if you run the install, but do not let the software find the printer, use the "my printer is not listed" feature, then manually input the printer information (ip address, ssid, WEP key), then it works.
I have tried using the normal install with your instructions for over a week now and this is the first time it's worked, using the above.
This is still very frustrating.

PCW,
One more question - now I don't have the option to scan to pdf. When I go into the setup for the HP Solutions scanner and try to add pdf to the file save choices, there's no pdf choice. Is there some way to get the program to recognize pdf as a file choice?

OK, I answered my own question.
The answer is that you have to load the OCR IRIS software. Then it gives you the choices to scan as pdf or txt.

Hi wilhouse,
Sorry to hear you are still having problems. Do you have the printer working again?

PCW - yes, I got it working. I had to do what I noted above - when it came to the install part where I had to click on my printer, instead I said it was not listed, and installed it manually: IP address, ssid, network password.
When I did that it worked. Before that it would not work no matter how many times I tried it.

I am using a J6480 and have downloaded (multiple times) the full feature driver.
MS Windows 7, 64-bit
I have exactly the same issues as above.
... re-download and install
... power off, power on....
... prints fine....
... won't scan...
stops printing....
re-download, re-install....
pay $65 for help!!
.... prints fine...
... still won't scan....
stops printing....

For me it was part of the full install package. You can either install it when you install the drivers or by separately running the install file and choosing the software.
