HP 8500A Plus - How to Scan @ 600 DOI using ADF? Can it be done?

I have an HP 8500A Plus and use the ADF to scan my documents using Adobe Acrobat X.

If I can from the flatbed I can scan a document at 600 or higher, if I use the ADF it limits me to 300DPI.

Any way to increase my ADF scaning to 600DPI?

Thank you

Hi Smessaert,

Follow the instructions below

1. Load document into ADF

2. Open Icon labled HP Officejet Pro 8600 on your desktop

3. Click on Scan a Document or Photo

4. Click on Save as PDF

5. Change the Resolution to 600 DPI

6. Press the Scan button.

Let me know if this works for you?

Re: HP 8500A Plus - How to Scan @ 600 DOI using ADF? Can it be done?

Thank you for your response, I actually use Acrobat X for scanning doucments as it enables more settings where as the HP PDF scannign solution is too  basic.

If I scan using the Acrobat X interface, it works fine @ 300DPI on the ADF but will not scan @ 600DPI on the ADF but does scan @ 600DPI using Acrobat X in flatbed mode.

Any reason why Acrobat X doesnt scan above 300DPI using ADF?

Hi Smessaert,

I am not sure why their application would be limited to 300 DPI. If you are successfully able to do a 600 DPI scan to pdf using HP scan application, then you will need to call Adobe about that issue. Let me know if you need any additional assistance?
