there are stretched and misplaced words showing up. Is there a fix for this?

The text setting is Cambri, with fonts at 12. I downloaded the latest and greatest from HP website and reinstalled software.
Same issue . Text is legible however handwriting is skewered......It appears that software is not recognizing hand signature
or numbers.
I also have microsoft 2007 word error that it has stopped working when I am in the middle of using. The fix is directly related
to the HP printer driver according to microsoft. Microsoft asks if I would like to search for fix and repair and that is when the
message about the driver appears.

Also, there is an option to scan from Word directly. CLick on Insert>Clip Art>Organize Clips...>File>Add Clips To Organizer>From Scanner Or Camera. Then just select the scanner from the list(you might see 2 scanners listed, so select any one you like) and it should scan directly to Word and the results may suit your needs better.

I have same problem and its driving me crazy. Scanning a letter where I handwrote some comments in the margin and when I view it in WORD 2007 its a real mess..formatting all screwed up and 'stuff' all over the place. I read the followiing in HP support: and tried it but got error from WORD that TWAIN may be corrupt . So I went to HP to try to find out about TWAIN corruption and was adviced to download the complete printer software which I have done many times over the years and it usually messes up my printer settings, After download I ran it and it says its already there so what do I do now. Not sure that re installing the software is going to do the trick (it is dated 2009) and might mess up other things. I should be able to scan a letter that I have marked up without a problem like this. I have a lot of these letters to scan/share.
I use WIN XP and Office 2007

The OCR software will not recognize handwriting correctly, so you're bound to face problems scanning handwritten documents.
