HP Deskjet F4280 All-in-one scan is not working. Power button blinks when scan is pressed.

Scan not working on my HP Deskjet F4280 All-in-One.  The power button blinks when scan is pressed. Everything else works.  I've tried the unplug from power outlet and plug back in.  Didn't solve problem. What else can I try?  Or, is this a piece of junk now and needs replacing?   My laptop (windows vista) did have to go in for repairs several months ago. Don't know if that had anything to do with it.

Can you make a standalone copy from the printer control panel?

Can you print to the printer?

Have you tried scanning using the Software on the computer?

I can make a stand alone copy, as well as print from computer to printer. The only thing not working is the scan.

I am not aware of scanner controls in the computer. I do not see anything in the hp printer folder. Where would I find this?

Problem solved. Did not have a "scan" button in hp solutions (as indicated in the directions) but once I was in solutions, the scan button on the scanner itself worked.
